ZOE addresses the market need for a robust, non-hermetically-sealed array optical sub-assembly, compatible with a lens array, suitable for high-density, precisely aligned optoelectronic operation at greater than 10Gb/s/channel. ZOE is comprised of a scalable flip-chip-on-glass arrayed photonic VCSEL/PIN sub-component assembly that itself can be standard-process solder-bump FR4 mounted, a compatible flip chip array-PMD Tx and Rx IC family and, a compatible angle-lens-array coupling approach. Zarlink delivers world-class design and manufacturing experience, with the vertical integration required to own and serves the high-capacity parallel optical transceiver/active-optical-cable module market as well as supplying array-PMD electronic and photonics integrated circuit components.
Highly Integrated: ZOE package combined with the PMD ICs provides all key electro-optical components in an extremely small footprint
