Swindon, UK - July 27, 2007

Zarlink Semiconductor today announced that power has been fully restored to its Analog Foundry in Swindon UK following flooding last week. Foundry personnel are now working to bring the factory back to full production.

Zarlink?s Analog Foundry was flooded on July 20, 2007, after record rainfall in June and July caused the nearby River Ray to overflow its banks. No employees were injured during the flood or evacuation, and all equipment was safely shut down. Environmental checks were made and all site discharges were monitored with no spills, leakages or discharges recorded.

Flood damage was limited to office and support areas. Office staff has been relocated to another building on-site, and all engineering, logistics, finance and sales groups are now fully operational. The Swindon site has an elevated fab, and no manufacturing areas were affected by the flood. Manufacturing equipment is now being brought online, and it is expected that the foundry will return to full operation within the next few weeks.

Foundry customers are being contacted individually to assess current levels of work-in-progress and wafer requirements for Q2,FY2008. The full financial impact of the shutdown is not yet known. Zarlink carries insurance for the loss of physical plant and business interruption. Foundry revenues are less than 10% of Company revenues. As a result, Zarlink expects minimal impact to Q2, FY2008 earnings.
