Dedicated Voice Processor with Dual Wide Band Codecs

The ZL38004 is a hardware platform designed to support advanced acoustic echo canceller and noise reduction with the ZLS38500 firmware pack for hands-free car kits and the ZLS38501 and ZLS38503 firmware packs for speakerphone.

  • 100 MHz (200 MIPs) Zarlink voice processor with hardware accelerator
  • Dual ## ADCs with input buffer gain selection programmable to either 8 or 16 kHz sampling
  • Dual ## DACs with output sampling of 8, 16, 44.1 and 48 kHz
  • 2048 tap Filter co-processor shared across up to 16 separate functions in 128 tap increments
  • Dual function Inter-IC Sound (I2S) or Secondary TDM port
  • Primary PCM port supports TDM (ST BUS, GCI or McBSP framing) or SSI modes at bit rates of 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, 8192 or 16384 Kb/sec
  • Separate slave (microcontroller) and master (Flash) SPI ports, maximum clock rate = 25 MHz
  • 11 General Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) pins
  • Programmable tail length range from 16 ms to 256 ms

ZLS38502 - Firmware for Advance Hands-free Speaker- Phones

  • Selectable Acoustic and Line Echo Cancellers (AEC & LEC) with patented Psycho acoustic Noise Reduction
  • Narrow band (8 kHz sampling) and Wide band (16 kHz sampling) operation
  • Programmable echo tail cancellation length from 8 to 256 ms
  • AEC and Noise Reduction bypass for handset operation
  • Psycho acoustic Noise reduction - up to 20 dB for white noise and up to 30 dB in a typical car environment
  • Non-linear Echo Controller
  • 16/22 band equalizer in the Sout and Rout path
  • Handles up to 6 dB line echo return loss measured from Sout to Rin
  • Programmable Tone Generator to generate, DTMF, SF, MT and tone ringer
  • No divergence due to double-talk (patented Adaption Control)
  • Programmable gain at Rin, Sin and Sout to accommodate system requirements
  • User gain control provided on speaker range (Rout) from -21 dB to +24 dB in 0.375 dB steps
  • Superior voice quality with patented Non-Linear Processor (NLP)
  • Patented Clipping Compensation
  • Patented Narrow-band signal divergence protection
  • Patented Anti-howling - prevents oscillation in echo canceller audio path
